The admissions requirements for the second level of the CA (Chartered Accountancy) courses i.e. IPCC (Integrated Professional Competency Course) or the ACT (Accounting Technicians) course stipulate that the student should have qualified in CA CPT for being eligible for admission.
CA CPT is thus the entry level course for all the students, irrespective of their academic qualifications. As such even graduates have to take it up.
