In addition to the ranks and distinctions awarded by the institutes, the following prizes are awarded to the students by various sponsors.

Some are sponsored by the Institute and its chapters and some others by private trusts or charitable institutions and some others by individuals.

  1. Certificate of Merit:

      Each candidate who passes the Final Examination taking all the subjects together (i.e. with out any exemption) at one sitting.

    • The Prize:

  2. Prize for General Proficiency:

    • Awarded By:

      The ICWAI

    • Awarded To:

      The Candidates securing 1st, 2nd & 3rd highest total marks amongst the holders of Certificate of merit.

    • The Prize:
      1. Gold Medal — First Prize for General proficiency
      2. Silver Medal — Second Prize for General Proficiency
      3. Book Prize — Third Prize for General Proficiency
  3. Ch. Bishan Das Puri Memorial Prize:

    • Awarded Out of:

      A fund established by Shri J. K. Puri, a past President of the Institute, to commemorate the name of his father Ch. Bishan Das Puri.

    • Awarded To:

      The candidate holding 1st Rank in the Final Examination.

    • The Prize:
      1. a. Gold Medal
  4. G. Basu Foundation Prize:

    • Awarded Out of:

      G. Basu Foundation in Accounting Research, Kolkata. The Foundation is named after one the past Presidents of ICWAI.

    • Awarded To:

      The candidate who passes the Final Examination with out taking exemption, from any subject and secures the highest total marks amongst the successful candidates taking into account the two examination held in the months of December and next June.

    • The Prize:
      1. a. A Cash prize of Rs.300 awarded every year
  5. V.Srinivasan Memorial Prize:

    • Awarded Out of:

      A fund established by TELCO (The Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company Limited) to commemorate the name of Sri. V.Srinivasan who was the chief Accountant of TELCO and past President of the Institute.

    • Awarded To:

      The candidate who passes the Final Examination securing the highest total marks in Stage III in each term.

    • The Prize:
      1. a. A gold medal
  6. G. D. Mundra Memoria Prize:

    • Awarded Out of:

      A fund established by Sri T. D. Mundra, a Member of the Institute, to commemorate the name of his father, Sri G.D. Mundhra.

    • Awarded To:

      To the candidate who passes the Final Examination, securing the highest marks in the paper ' Advanced Financial Accounting' in each term.

    • The Prize:
      1. a. A gold medal
  7. N. Sarkar Memorial Prize:

    • Awarded Out of:

      A fund established by Srimati Jyotirmoyee Sarkar to commemorate the name her husband, Sri Narendra Sarkar, a past President of the Institute

    • Awarded To:

      The candidate who passes the Final Examination securing the highest marks in the paper 'Advanced Financial Management' in each term.

    • The Prize:
      1. a. Cash Prize of Rs.500
  8. Subhas Adhya Memorial Prize:

    • Awarded Out of:

      A fund established by Late E. V. Mani, a Member of the Institute, to commemorate the name of his student, Sir Subhas Adhya.

    • Awarded To:

      The candidate who passes the Final Examination securing the highest marks in the paper 'cost Audit' in each term.

    • The Prize:
      1. a. Cash Prize of Rs.500

    • Awarded Out of:

      The Accountants of Guest Keen Williams Ltd. Mr. K. Ramachandran was a Fellow Member of this Institute and the Deputy Managing Director of messrs. Guest Keen Williams Limited.

      The candidate holding first rank.

      1. Rs. 325 for each term of Final Examination
  10. Mauji Ram Jain Memorial Prize:

    • Awarded Out of:

      "Mauji Ram Jain Memorial Prize fund" instituted by his son, Sri S. K. Jain, a Fellow Member of the Institute.

      The lady candidate who scores the highest total marks amongst the lady candidates in each term
